How smoking affects the skin

Tobacco contains over 7,000 chemicals.

These types of chemicals cause the fibrobalsts in the skin ( the good guys that help produce the elastin and collagen production) to oxidise. This impairs collagen production causing the skin to loose its elasticity. Hence premature ageing.

Smoking also constricts the blood vessles which in turn helps to deprive the the skin of oxygen. Hence pale, uneven skin tone and that general washed out unhealthy pallor.

The death inhalation stick not only stutters the collagen production but it also speeds up the bodies breakdown of collagen. Which also affects the bodys natural ability to repair wounds and natural cell regeneration.

So, aside from the fact that you are likely increasing your risk of cancers and other medical issues, your clothes and hair will smell of tobacco smoke. So maybe either consider cutting down or just give up, maybe live a little more and a little longer.

The choice is yours and I'm not about to judge you, but its really bad for your skin and no amount of Vitamin C will counterbalance it.
